While at VHB, I developed a series of R scripts to streamline Rail Operations group workflows related to their analyses done with their simulation software, RTC (Rail Traffic Controller). Scripts facilitated development of baseline models by intaking GTFS or user created schedules into the preferred format of choice input by the program. I also generated additional scripts which streamlined the processing and computation of results output by the microsimulation software as well as visually analyze and communicate results. Streamlining of the workflow led to a 90%(!) timesaving’s on the analysis which allowed more time to enhance, refine, and re-evaluate simulations ultimately leading to a better work product.
